A Lisbon week planner: build around bookings, not a checklist

Affiliate disclosure: The optional activity link below is an affiliate link. If you book through it, this site may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. The worksheet is free to use without making a purchase. Use this worksheet before booking activities. A seven-day Lisbon plan does not need seven crowded schedules. It needs a place for fixed commitments, a realistic route back to your accommodation, and room for a day that changes. The worksheet below is an original planning aid; the example is fictional, not a tested itinerary or an account of a visit. Separate fixed plans from possibilities Put your accommodation address, arrival arrangements and departure journey on the page first. Next, list activities that you would be disappointed to miss. Check the attraction's own visitor information before treating any of them as fixed. A place appearing in a tourism directory does not mean tickets are available for your date. The official Visit Lisboa site groups places into a...

Before you schedule a guest message: four checks to run

Product disclosure: This guide is published by the maker of the paid Host Automation Kit. The checklist below is free to use. The examples contain fictional property details. A reusable guest message can still contain the wrong Wi-Fi name, an unfinished placeholder, or instructions meant for another property. Before you schedule a message, test the text that the guest will actually receive. You can do this with a plain text file and a small checklist; buying a tool is optional. For this walkthrough, we ran the local template filler included in our Host Automation Kit. It reads the templates and substitutes the property details you supply. It does not connect to a booking account or send messages. The distinction matters: preparing a message and delivering it to the right guest are separate jobs. 1. Test the property details with fictional values Start with a copy of your draft. Use obviously fictional values so the test cannot be confused with a real arrival message. We supplied D...

A flexible Barcelona day: one booking, one backup, fewer assumptions

Affiliate disclosure: The optional activity link below is an affiliate link. If you book through it, this site may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. The worksheet is free to use without making a purchase. A Barcelona plan becomes easier to change when you separate the visit you have booked from activities you can leave open. This worksheet builds a day around your own priorities. It is not a weather forecast, a crowd prediction or a first-hand account of a trip. Choose the fixed part of the day Start with one visit that matters to you. Read the venue's own information for your date and ticket category before planning around it. For example, Sagrada Família has separate information for different visitor categories. A generic recommendation to visit does not tell you which category, entry conditions or availability applies to your party. Barcelona's official tourism site offers itinerary, transport and accessibility sections. Use those to research options, then conf...

Where to stay in Lisbon: compare addresses before booking

Affiliate disclosure: The optional activity link below is an affiliate link. If you book through it, this site may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. The worksheet is free to use without making a purchase. A district name is not enough to choose accommodation. Two properties marketed as central can involve different arrival routes, building access and cancellation terms. This guide gives you a comparison sheet to fill from actual property information. It does not rank hotels, report a personal stay, or assume September will be quieter or cheaper. Start with the journey you actually have to make Write your arrival point and expected arrival time, then look up the route to each exact address. Check the transport operator for current routes and notices. The route shown for a weekday morning may not answer a late-arrival question. If the journey depends on an alternative service, verify that option before treating it as your backup. Visit Lisboa provides area and accommodation...

Rome booking worksheet: check the ticket before planning the day

Affiliate disclosure: The optional activity link below is an affiliate link. If you book through it, this site may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. The worksheet is free to use without making a purchase. Before arranging a Rome day around an attraction, check exactly what you are buying. A venue name in a listing does not tell you the entrance, included areas, meeting point or cancellation conditions. This original worksheet helps compare options without assuming that one ticket or reseller is always the right choice. Find the official starting point Turismo Roma is the city's official tourism site. Its monument, museum and visitor-information sections can help you identify an attraction and its official information. Follow through to the attraction or operator before relying on a booking condition. A city overview is not a source for a specific ticket's current availability. For a purchase, check the seller and operator separately. The company taking payment may...

Is a direct booking site worth it for a small host?

The short answer If you run one to three units, a direct booking site is not worth building until you can say out loud what it saves you. Not "saves on fees" — a number, in your currency, taken from your own payout history, on one sheet of paper. Most hosts asking "Guesty or Lodgify or Hostfully?" have skipped that step. They're shopping for a tool before they've checked whether the tool has anything to do. That's backwards, and it's expensive, because the software bill starts on day one and the bookings don't. Below is the arithmetic. It takes about twenty minutes and it will tell you more than any comparison table. Divide what is left by your annual hours: that is your hourly rate for running a direct channel. The question under the question Under a YouTube video about property management software, a host wrote this in December 2023: "What would you recommend for only 1 property? Or would not recommend any?" Three people...
